We
have been conducting a 24 Hour Free Medical Service Camp every
year, for six months at Sri Pada since 1978, consecutively
for 26 years, for the benefit of over One Million pilgrims
who climb Sri Pada (Adam's Peak), annually, by making available
a free cup of warm Ginger-Coriander-Lak Peyawa drink to every
pilgrim, in addition to the distributing of Siddhalepa Balm
to relieve their aches, pains and chills. |

At
Kataragama, during the Festival Season, a 24 Hourt Free
Medical Service Camp is conducted, annually, by providing
a free cup of Ginger-Coriander Lak Peyawa drink to all
the devotees. We also conduct similar free Medical Camps
during the Festival Seasons at Ratnapura Maha Saman
Devalaya, Mahiyangana, Seenigama Devalaya at Balapitiya,
as well as at Getabaruwa Devalaya, close to Deniyaya.
Over 1000 Garbage Bins have been provided at our expense
to Dalada Maligawa, Kandy, Sri Pada, Atamastanaya at
Anuradhapura, Kataragama, Kelaniya, Bellanwila and Dambulla
Raja Maha Viharayas etc as well as to Hindu Kovils,
Catholic and Christian Churches, in many parts of Sri
Lanka.
Since
1990 we have been providing free breakfast on Saturdays
to over 300 Students who attend the Dhamma School
a Parama Dhamma Chetiya Pirivena at Ratmalana.
Environmental
and Moral Value Message Boards have been provided,
at our expense, to National Heritage Sites at Horton
Plains, Namal Uyana, Sri Pada, Dambulla etc. We pioneered
the project in providing free Road Signs to the Sri
Lanka Police to help them in their Traffic arrangements
at various Checkpoints as well as
Pedestrian Crossings Signs to most of the Schools
Islandwide.
At
Kataragama we have provided Cement Benches along the
riverbank for the benefit of the tired pilgrims to
take rest, as well as at other sacred places.
Deshabandu
Dr.Victor Hettigoda has made hundreds
of public speeches to various business communities
on business matters through the National Television
and other public fora and has also conducted Management
Conferences in cities and villages, at our expense,
to train small to medium Industrialists to educate
them how to manage their business activities thereby
training over 6000 persons in that sphere.
We
have donated to over 500 rural Schools, Islandwide,
First Aid Boxes, for the benefit of the school children.
He has been lecturing to 100 s of Schools, Islandwide,
advising students to maintain discipline in their
Schools as well in their homes.

Our
Company has published over 100 articles on Entrepreneurship
and related matters to various Magazines and Newspapers. We
have printed and distributed 500,000 Time Tables to School
Children, Islandwide, describing the Principles and Benefits
of ISO 9002 - the International Standard Quality System. We
published and distributed a monthly magazine in Sinhala named
"Velenda" for the benefit of the business sector.
In June 1990 we have published and distributed to Buddhist
Temples and Schools the 500 Jataka Stories. When the Metric
system was introduced to Sri Lanka, we printed and distributed
for the benefit of the Consumer One Million Metric Conversion
Tables.
We
haved sponsored a Radio Programme named "Pramithiyay
- Obai" (Quality & You) produced by the Sri Lanka
Standards Institution (SLSI) to promote an awareness about
the values of ISO 9000 Quality System. A T.V documentary titled
"Jeevaka Asapuwa" was sponsored by us for promoting
an awareness on the traditional Ayurveda system of medicine
in Sri Lanka. We also sponsored a T.V documentary named "Diriya
Minisun" depicting how entrepreneurs from rural areas
achieved success in their lives and in business. A live T.V
programme named "Veda Handa" was telecast weekly
for enhancing the awareness of Ayurveda to help the people
to obtain instant clarifications for problems they experienced
on Ayurveda. Punchi Kekulu T.V programme was telecast over
Rupavahini channel to educate the masses about child abuse,
in line with the UNESCO Guidelines on Child Care and Child
Abuse. At present we sponsor a T.V programme named "Tharuna
Kekulu" over the Rupavahini channel for the benefit of
the Youth on ethics and moral values of our society.
We
also pioneered the campaign to reduce / eradicate the use
of polythene and such bio-degradable substances at Adam's
Peak and at other historical places of worship.
Consequent
to the peace accord, we conducted free Medical Service Camps
during the Madhu Church Festival in Wanni District and also
at the Nallur Hindu Kovil Festival in Jaffna.
For
the last three years we have sponsored a programme titled
"Clean up the world" under the aegis of the United
Nations Environmental Programme conducted by the Ambalangoda
Urban Council in the Southern Province in clearing garbage
from beaches, river banks, road sides, temple yards, hospitals,
schools etc with the participation of the school children
and the people of the area.
